Winter Camp (Machaneh Choref) 2009

Now in its fourth year, Machaneh Choref is a magical five days in the snow! From kvutsah bonding, to educational peulot (activities), to Jewish ceremonies including creative and exciting Hannukah celebrations, winter camp is an irreplaceable experience for new and old Gilboa family members. And of course, it is filled with sledding, snowball fights, fun and hot chocolate.

Machaneh Choref offers a space to reunite with chaverim (friends) and madrichim (counselors), rekindling inspirations from the summer, and solidifying the Habonim Dror Camp Gilboa experience as a year-round part of our lives.

Winter 2009: Be the Change (L'hiyot Hashinui)

This winter focuses our chinuch (education) on ways in which we can integrate our Habonim Dror ideology into our everyday lives, including practical activism. The ruach is coming out of our ears! Can't wait to see you there!!!

The first year my daughter went to Camp Gilboa she cried when she got on the bus to go. When she returned that first year and every year after, she cried getting off the bus and wanted to go "home", back to Camp Gilboa. The program emphasizes the acceptance and self worth of each camper and enables friendships within and across the age groups that create a quality of experience that can last a lifetime. Kids who may feel ostracized during the year find inclusion and acceptance at Camp Gilboa and all campers can benefit and grow in ways that contribute to their self-esteem, creativity, and appreciation of the world around them.
