TZEDEK is Gilboa’s social action and leadership development program for high schoolers – it is where Gilboa teens put their values into action!
See upcoming Tzedek meetings and events HERE!
The program addresses three main areas through learning and hands-on experience:
• Social Justice Education Rooted in Judaism
• Leadership Development and Hadracha (Educational Leadership)
• Organizing and Social Action
The Tzedek program runs as monthly local meetings and seminars throughout the year (upcoming dates here!) Participants gain hands-on experience through social action projects they initiate and carry out with staff guidance, in educational outreach activities in the local Jewish community, and through involvement in local Gilboa activities as young educators and mentors.
A key aspect of the program is trainings and partnerships in the community. In previous years, for example, the program included:
Organizing 101 with Bend the Arc
Creating music for social change workshop with filmmaker Melanie Zoey
Learning about student protest movements at the Boyle Heights Museum
