Spring Work Weekend 2025 Recap

New decks, meadow walks, Havdalah, and more...we got our hands dirty and had a TON of fun at Work Weekend this spring! A HUGE thank you to Maya Paz (Gilboa board member and alum) and Mosh alum Micah Arnson Serotta for cooking us amazing food this weekend! We are so grateful for you. Keep reading for more!

Work Projects

Throughout the weekend, families and campers were able to participate in various work projects to help prepare the site for summer. Here's a few highlights of what we were able to accomplish:

• Sherutim (bathroom) deep cleaning and inventory checking

• Lifted and moved heavy picnic benches!

• Organized and created a comprehensive inventory for the Marp (infirmary)

• De-winterized the chadar (dining hall) -- and saw the new mirpeset (deck)!

• Many fire safety checks!

• Finally took down the last broken ohel (tent) platform!

• Went on a tour of the site with a new family that campers Lara and Asher led, with a hike around the lake featuring a NEW boardwalk on the meadow!!

Havdalah

Arguably chanichimot's (campers') favorite time of the week, we were elated to recreate some of our favorite camp Saturday night traditions to share with Work Weekend volunteers. When the sun went down on Saturday, we put on our cozy sweatshirts and said goodbye to Shabbat through havdalah (closing Shabbat prayers) and kumzits (group singing)--plus s'mores!
