Gilboa is proud to be a part of the long legacy of progressive Jewish movements fighting, educating and working to support the rights of working people.
This Friday will be May 1st, or May Day, a day when people in countries all over the world come together in protest to demand a more equal and just world for workers. As we all continue on through these uncertain times, it is important to recognize how much workers have been keeping our society together. Grocery store attendants, nurses, factory workers - these are the people on the front lines of the pandemic. This year it is more important than ever to stand with the demands of the people sacrificing so much for our well being and safety.
Despite these trying times, many large corporations have been charged with not providing adequate health and economic protections to their workers. So please consider standing with striking workers by not shopping with Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Target, Walmart, and Fedex on Friday!
May Day is a great opportunity to have a conversation with your family about what a boycott is and why it is important to stand alongside working people demanding their rights. While we might not see the picket lines, the labor movement in America is doing a lot to support those on the front lines and we can help them by making sure to spread the word!
