On Wednesday, our chanichim (campers) left for their overnight tiyul (hike). They hiked the trails of Big Bear and spent the night sleeping under the stars. Once they arrived back at Gilboa on Thursday, everyone jumped into action to plan for Bonim Idol - our annual kvutza (age group) dance competition planned and run by the Bonim. Each kvutza chose a song and planned a dance routine to perform in front of all of camp. This year, the theme chosen by the Bonim was Y2K in New York City. They made decorations and ran the whole evening, including judging each kvutza's performance. In the end, the judges crowned the Chotrim as this year's Bonim Idol winners!
