Dear Gilboa Community,
My name is Lara Dutta, and I serve as the Chair of the Development Committee for Machaneh (Camp) Gilboa. As a Habonim Dror alum, my life has been shaped by the values of collective responsibility. As a parent of two campers turned madrichimot (counselors), I am in awe of how effective Gilboa is in developing thoughtful, responsible, contributing adults.
Today, I'm reaching out to ask you to support Machaneh Gilboa. Your contribution will help children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford camp and provide them with foundational progressive Jewish education. With the ongoing crisis in Israel and the rise in antisemitism, it’s more important than ever that our young people have a safe place to deepen their connection to their Jewish community. Last year, thanks to everyone’s generosity, almost half of our chanichimot (campers) received financial support, approximately $150,000 in total, which enabled them to have this crucial camp experience.
